sanbox winter 2011

The newest issue of sandbox (new website coming soon) came out last week, and it is charming as ever. For the anniversary issue they added some new features for style, hair and make-up and changed up the print style (I was sorta partial to the staples...) This issue as always showcases local talent and shops. My Favorite editorial is this issue was "a date with the night" (sorry for my bad images)

Photo's by brittany alyse, styled by chanelle salnikowski, make up by meagan perron and hair by katie katchnoski
Be sure to pick up a copy when you see it around town.

goodwillin'

A few months back I posted my vintage crush of lipstick holders. Today at the goodwill's half price sale I managed to find myself one. Oddly enough it is exactly like one of the images I borrowed from ebay. My wishful thinking must have brought me good luck.
It was the amazing price of $1.50. I hope to find more on my thrifting trips. It organizes my make-up so lovely.

natureluxe

I bought the new covergirl natureluxe lipgloss a few weeks back and am totally in love. I was having chronic chapped lips and nothing was seeming to work (sorry softlips....) so I decided to give this a try. I have not had a chapped lips in weeks and the texture of the balm/gloss is just lovely. I purchased "marble" and am not sure how sheer the other colors are but they are enticing. Definitely a great new product.

thumbprints

There are many variations to the classic thumbprint cookie, and I may have tried them all... This week I have found my new go to recipe for them courtesy of the food network. (recipe in link)
These yummy ones are FOOLPROOF if you think you can't bake you can make these, just mix the dough with a mixer and scoop out onto a pan.
Hints from this recipe: I chilled my dough a little before scooping it out, this is not necessary the ones where the dough was cooler didn't flatten out as much, so I would recommend the dough at room temperature.
I use a thimble to press out my "thumbprints" it makes a nice uniform cookie.
Enjoy!
