rose and dark chocolate cookies

I have been drinking a lot of david's tea blends lately and always mean to fit in some baking before I finish my tea. This week I finally got around to actually baking with my lovely gourmet tea. The blend I used for this recipe is called "english rose" and is made with black tea, rose pieces and white chocolate, perfect for cookies if you ask me.

What you will need:
1/2 cup butter/margarine softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup flour
1 tbsp spoon loose tea (I used english rose) ground up in a coffee grinder
half a bag or so of dark chocolate chips

How to make:
Soften butter and add in ground up tea. Add brown and white sugar and cream well. Add in egg and mix well. Add vanilla, baking soda and salt, stir. Gradually add in flour mix well. Stir in enough chocolate chips to your liking.
In a preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit scope out cookies with a tablespoon and roll into a ball. Place on an un-greased cookies sheet and bake for 7 1/2 minutes or more/less depending on your oven. You want the slightly gooey in the middle don't be afraid to under bake them a bit.

Cooking side note: everytime I make these cookies they come out different. I added too much flour this time since I over melted my butter. If you make the same mistake don't add more flour like me but place the dough in the fridge to harden up. They taste way better with less flour!

    1. Nico: I find a good "base" recipe for most things and then add in different flavours. Almost everything I make I just "add" things in and see what happens. Glad these turned out for you:)
