When ever my current cleanser runs out it is always a bit of trouble for me to pick something new I read a tonne of reviews watch youtube like crazy and I am often not happy with whatever I choose. In theory I like to use the most natural products I can on my face but have found recently my skin sadly responds to chemicals:( For the past 2 weeks I have been testing out making my own cleanser using either ground up oatmeal or straight up honey. I watched these youtube videos to inspire me
Honey I was hoping to be my new cleanser. Washing your face with honey is not that messy; honey oddly washes off very easily with water, better than some cleansers. The only thing I found with my completely diy cleansers was they were just too gentle for my skin. My skin was still clogged and didn't clear up but in fact got slightly worse, craaazy I know. I love honey for face masks, and try to do so once a week. But for now I have gone back to a drug store cleanser...
BTW superstore now offers a budget friendly manuka honey {it is packaged weird the whole wrapper comes off when you open it} at $6 it is unpasteurized and all natural, it does not list the UMF or 'Unique Manuka Factor' for those who are a little more hard core about their manuka. I quite like using the manuka honey on my face as apposed to other honey since I find I am not too fond of it's taste so I don't feel I am wasting good tea honey!
anyone want to recommend their favorite cleanser so I can google research it?

I've heard using honey on your face produces great results, however, I'm a die hard fan of Lush, because they use all natural ingredients. I have combination/"normal" skin so I use their "Angels on Bare Skin," but they have face washes for other skin types as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope that helped! :)

i have to go with sabrina on the comment above me. my cleanser is from lush but it's in their soap form (fresh pharmacy: pink soap) and it specifically targets my skin concerns which is oil and acne. i suggest if you want to go towards the natural route, go visit lush at polo park and they can give you some tips on what you can try for your specific skin concerns. also, try and ask them if you can get a sample first of the product, so you won't need to commit to anything (in case it doesn't work out). they're pretty generous with customers when it comes to samples.

Interesting! Maybe you can alternate one in the am and one in the pm?
ReplyDeleteI sadly need to find a cleanser too! I got away from beauty products and now I have realized that I need some good skin care! Please share your research! The only product I use is boots number 5 make up removing and cleansing wipes and clarins face spf. I did go thrifting recently but I haven't found anything for my home besides that free print from my dads basement lol.

I've been using Burt's Bees and I really love their products! I use their face cleanser and sensitive skin moisturizer which I am in LOVE with!
ReplyDelete@heidi-and-seek. I 100% had the burt's bees sensitive skin cream cleanser in my hands but went for Neutrogena! I will have to give it a try next time:)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE using honey as masks/cleansers. I'm lucky to have a grampa that raises bees so I always have a nice supply of raw, organic honey. to really cleanse my skin once a week I like to do a face steam with chamomile. basically just boil water with chamomile leaves and then put a towel over your head for a few mins over the pot. just be careful not to burn your skin, leave room for air to escape. then when your pores are open, apply honey, then wash off. my skin always feels so incredibly fresh and new!
